Skills Are Cheap Passion is Priceless

I want to get very real with you and share my life’s story. I am going to take you on the journey from the very beginning of my childhood on up to the point of where I am today. The reason I am sharing the raw and honest details of my life is so that you can understand that success is not determined by your past.
Behind every successful person out there is a story filled with devastation, determination, pivotal moments and raw emotions. No matter who you are, where you’ve been, what you’ve done, it is your passion. Skills are cheap, anyone can learn how to do something, but it is your passion that is simply priceless.

Devastating Things Happened in My Life

In my book, Skills Are Cheap, Passion is Priceless, I show you snippets of the devastation and tragedy that I dealt with as a child. I talk about my drug addict father, my amazing mother, my caring grandparents, and the dad that raised me.
Later on in the book, I share about my struggle with bulimia and self-esteem. For many years, I allowed the way I looked to dictate every choice I made.
I’m not the only one that had devastating things happen in my life. Brian shares about the death of his father and how that put him on the path he took in life. He talks about the way his dad lived in his final years, made a lasting impact on him.

I’ve Always Been Determined

For me, I always had to be the best. I would never allow myself to be less than the best. So I put a lot of pressure on myself. Many people fall into this rut. They either stay in the bottom because they feel as though they can never achieve, so they don’t try. Or they are at the very top, and you can never go any lower, you have to work super hard to stay at the top all of the time because anything less would be like losing.

My Pivotal Moment

You might have heard my story of how the pivotal moment I experienced in my corporate job. The day I decided that I would never put my children in daycare. From that moment on, I knew my why. I made a vow never to put my child in daycare, all I have to do is look into her eyes and my commitment to the WHY is stronger than ever. What is your WHY?

I Became an Online Marketer

Back when I started in online marketing, we didn’t have half of the resources that we have today. Social media wasn’t even a thing, blogs were just beginning, and people were just starting to tap into the power of internet sales.
I Googled how to work from home and found so many resources. It was then that I knew I had found the way to do what I set out to do. Although…I had a lot of learning to do.

Grab your copy of my book now- Skills Are Cheap Passion is Priceless.

Learning The Hard Way

As with anything that you put your focus to, good or bad, you start to see examples and signs of it everywhere. One call back list in particular caught my eye and I decided to leave my name and phone number on it to get more information.
I put in my email address and a woman called me to tell me about the business. She asked me why I wanted it, but she was a really poor prospector, I just wanted her to get to the point. There I was, my ego was so big that I didn’t even want to listen to her, I just wanted to bypass her and get to the information. When in reality I needed that woman so badly, I needed the movement that she made, I needed her energy, and that is exactly what people do in business, they want to skip over the important stuff, which is what I did.
If only I had known that mentors play such a huge role in success. It’s not enough to just read and learn. You need someone that is 4-5 steps ahead of you to help guide you.

Business Deals Gone Bad and Finding Mentors

Sure, Brian and I were super successful in our online ventures for a while. We were bringing in unbelievable amounts of money. But then…we lost it all. Since we hadn’t brought mentors into our lives, we made really poor business decisions.
The fallout from that choice wrecked us. We were hurt and struggling. This one interview with Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer radically changed our lives.
Here’s what they said-
No one can make you upset, depressed, hurt, anxious, or fearful without your consent. The worst things in life turn out to be the most important steps that you need to take, in order to get to the next place in your life. The highest place you can get to with this individual is to practice forgiveness, instead of revenge & anger”

My Mantra

Their words meant so much to me. From that day forward, I decided to change my mindset. I developed regained my confidence and developed a manta.
Every single day, I wake up with a mantra, and I talk to myself. I either look in the mirror, or I sit and say, “Rhonda, you are an incredible leader. You inspire people to do great things in their life. You show them that everything is possible. You help more families be free. You must show more families how to get to building a life that they love.” This is the essence of belief. When you have a mantra that you tell yourself, you are teaching your brain to believe in the life you want to create for yourself.

Remembering My Why Has Made Me Unstoppable

When I started my job and said I’ll never put my child in daycare, that I was going to live out this day, perfect day, every single day, that I was going to quit my job and replace my income, I wasn’t going back. There was no plan B. That was my vow and my commitment, and she, Hanalei, became my WHY. Everything I did fueled me to get me to that next step. Everything I did I did because she was my WHY and it was robust enough to keep me motivated and disciplined. I became Unstoppable!
When you wear the word unstoppable, you hold an armor that tells you that you can. It reminds you every day to be unstoppable. Being unstoppable needs a strong ‘WHY.’ Once you have worked out your WHY everything is possible.
If you want to hear more about Brian’s and my journey, snag a copy of my book, Skills Are Cheap, Passion is Priceless. I will take you through our life and share with you the practical tips you need to develop a successful business while you live out your perfect life. Read more

How to Stream Using YouTube Live and Hangouts On Air

How to Stream Using YouTube Live and Hangouts On Air

If you didn’t know, we have a Freedom-Preneur show every week so that we can share valuable information that you need to know. This past Wednesday, before we did our show, I took this video explaining to you how we get set up. I will show you how to stream using YouTube Live and Hangouts on Air.
You can no longer go through Google+ to access your Hangout on Air. This posed a problem for us, because we do our shows live on Wednesday nights. to do a live show in Clickfunnels.
If you didn’t know, we don’t record our shows ahead of time. That is already a unique thing we offer to our readers, because if you know much about Clickfunnels, you’ll know most of it is pre-recorded. It is important to us to have the interaction with you all during the show.
Now that changes have been made with Google+, this is the process we use to stream live for our Freedom-Preneur Show.

How to Use YouTube Live and Hangouts On Air

Make sure that you do each of these steps in order so that you can do your show

  1. Sign into your YouTube channel
  2. Click on video manager
  3. Click the live streaming option
  4. Locate and click on events
  5. Look at the top right and find- new live event
  6. Select Type: Quick
  7. Create a title of your video
  8. Go Live
Once you have done those steps, you will need to login to your Clickfunnels account.

How To Stream Live Through Clickfunnels

Since we prefer to go live for our shows, we have a work around to add the YouTube link we created into our Clickfunnels page. After you do all of the steps to get your video started, you will be able to grab your YouTube link and input it into your Clickfunnels page.
Here’s what you will need to do next-
  1. Go to your live show page in Clickfunnels (this is a page that you have to set up ahead of time in your account)
  2. Click on the video
  3. Video Type- YouTube
  4. Paste in the video URL
  5. Save the changes
After you do all of these steps, click preview to make sure it is working correctly for you. Before you send it out live, you will want to be certain that it is streaming properly.
When you go to the preview page, it should say “Live stream is starting soon”. This will let your viewers know that you are going to be on shortly.

Start The Broadcast

Once you have all of these components together, you can start your live broadcast. If you have been going through your Google+ page, and no longer have that ability, this is how you can go live.
Need Clickfunnels training? Be sure to check out our Freedom-Preneur Academy where we will address this exact type of topic.

Establishing Cash Flow in Business

Establishing Cash Flow in Business

Whenever we are starting a new business or venture, cash flow is the most critical element. As Paul Maguire says, it’s oxygen for your business. That means planning your month, quarter and years promotions and activities are vitals and required for your success.
To help you plan for the close of the year, I put together a quarter branded plan outlined with examples of how I manage my sales cycles to keep the cash flow in business going.

For Better Cash Flow in Business Think About Your Entire Quarter

It is important to understand your budgeting needs for the entire quarter. This will allow you to break down your financial needs for each month and see how they fit together. If you are going to be successful in your business, you need to know what your financial commitments are.

You Need a Budget

If ever there was a need for a budget, it is when you are a business owner. Without an understanding of your financial obligations, you can get into deep trouble real quick. What if you have a big bill that you need to pay in the second month of the quarter? How are you going to pay the bill if you haven’t earned enough in sales?
That is why having a quarter branding plan is essential.

What is a Quarterly Branding Plan?

A quarterly branding plan allows you to map out exactly what you need to do to bring in the earnings necessary to cover both your personal and business expenses. You will develop very specific action plans that help you know what has to be done every day in order to reach your goals.
Download this Quarter Branded Plan example for free.

Quarter Branded Plan

In this document, I give you a real life scenario of how Brian and I would structure our quarter to host an event. In order to get interested people to the event, we will launch a 4 week workshop and host weekly calls to bring in new members to our Freedom-preneur academy.

What is the Freedom-preneur Academy?

Over the last few years, we have realized that there is a major hole in the online marketing industry. If you do enough searching around and digging, you will find all of the information you need to build a successful business. The problem is, many people run out of time and funds long before they find all of that information.
We created the Freedom-preneur Academy to house all of that valuable information you need to be successful. When you sign up to join our academy, you will have access to training videos and worksheets that will help you know exactly what you need to do.
Not only do we offer the video training courses, but you can also plug into the online community of other Freedom-preneurs that are in the academy. These men and women bring so many skills and knowledge to the table.

Tips, Tricks, Do’s and Don’t’s of Social Media Marketing- Selling the Dream & Living the Nightmare

Tips, Tricks, Do’s and Don’t’s of Social Media Marketing- Selling the Dream & Living the Nightmare

In here, what I want to talk to you about today is selling the dream and living the nightmare.

Being a Freedom-Preneur Means Having Fun!

It can be inferred that there is a huge struggle for those that leave the corporate world. It’s this– we don’t take time to have fun.
Now let me ask you: So you finally did it, right? You left your corporate job so that you could pursue being a Freedom-preneur, only to turn right around and put in the same amount of time and effort to your home based business as you did for someone else.
What is the point of all of that? You left but then you were just going to still spend all of your time working, then why did you not stay in the industry you were in? Don’t ever forget that living the dream means taking the time to live.
In all seriousness and strictly speaking, you have to get away from your desk. You didn’t sign up for that. You signed up to be a Freedom-preneur and determining what your version of the Dream is.

Here are some of the tips I have for you today:
  • You need to get out in the world and have fun! This is one of the most important things to remember. Take the time– in fact, a lot of time– to get away from your computer and enjoy life. Furthermore, spend time with your family, do something new, whatever you enjoy, go do it!
  • Create a business that you can enjoy- We all know that there is no end to the number of things you can do in the online world. The key to this is to pick something you enjoy. Take note that you aren’t in it just for the paycheck, but for the other benefits of being on online marketer. Namely, those benefits are creating a business that you actually love. You don’t like what you are selling? Then sell something else.
  • When you are doing what you love, you can do it longer- When you sell the things you love, then you will not even feel like you are working. You might find that you have been running non-stop 12-15 hours doing the thing you love. It won’t even feel like work, because you are so passionate about it.

Don’t Sell The Dream While You are Living the Nightmare

It’s time to get real people.Always be connected and transparent to your audience. You can’t sell them a dream life while you are living your own worst nightmare because people are going to see right through that.
For a long time, I was selling things that I didn’t like and couldn’t feel passionate about. I woke up and asked myself, “What am I doing this for?”. To me, my realizationwas that, what I was doing at home wasn’t much better than what I had been doing in my corporate career.
So, here is something you need to know about being a Freedom-preneur: the direction of your life is up to you. You don’t have a boss hovering over you dictating to you the exact dimensions of the box that you have to stay in.
It is undeniable that being in the online marketing industry will either energize you, or drain the life out of you. I am encouraging you to make 2016 your best business year yet and get your priorities straight. Last word of advice: Figure out what makes you tick and pursue it.

Successful Online Marketers Eat Frogs

online-marketing-let-someone-else-sweat-small-stuff-40196505_xxl
Successful Online Marketers Eat Frogs
Why do we generally decline to eat the frog first thing in the morning, or at any time during the day? It’s because these major tasks usually involve things that are totally foreign to us so we feel there won’t be much satisfaction in the short term.
Frogs Top to Bottom.
People at all levels of businesses– newbies to veterans– have their frogs and we all find ways to avoid them.
What is the one thing you could do right now, today, that would move your business along? What could get you closer to being in business, get you that next client, create future income?
I first heard the saying from Brian Tracy, the personal development expert and sales trainer; in his book Eat That Frog! He uses it as a colorful way to say, “Stop procrastinating.”.
Are You Really Hungry?
” Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”.
He mingled among France’s upper classes, Chamfort supported the French Revolution. His use of the “frog” statement was aimed at his disgust with French high society.
More specifically, “eating the frog,” means tackling the biggest or most important task( s) that will move your business forward.
If you really want to be in business– if you’re really hungry– you’ve got to eat the frogs.
This humorous saying has been credited to 17th century American author Mark Twain (though someone on my staff has pointed out to me that there is no evidence that Twain ever said or wrote it; it’s a translation of a statement documented as having been written by a 17th century French humorist named Nicholas Chamfort, who was quoting an associate known as “Mr. de Lassay”).
How do I stop wasting time and just get on with it?
If you can motivate yourself to take on and complete the things you’ve been putting off– usually, they are big, meaningful things that would move your business forward– you will find yourself actually in business.
For people who are further along and do have an audience, the method is to announce your “frog” in an email, on social media, or both. It’s a good idea to put some cash up as well, to ensure you really do deliver. Declare that the penalty for failing to deliver is some amount of cash that you really can’t afford to lose. Either deliver and reclaim your cash or fail to deliver on time and lose it.
For someone just starting out, who does not yet have a list of customers and leads, you would make yourself accountable to a friend or family member.
Final Thought.
Use self-imposed accountability if motivation is hard to summon. The frog will seem palatable in comparison if you make the deadline short enough and the penalty stiff enough.

New Entrepreneurs: Don’t Make This Mistake!

new-entrepreneurs-dont-make-mistake-55540701_xxl-1024x682
New Entrepreneurs: Don’t Make This Mistake!
“What is the number one mistake that new entrepreneurs make when starting a business?”
Because it gives me a chance to talk about something I see almost every new business owner doing wrong, I love this question. Now, let’s answer this question.

Productivity Versus Busywork

The answer is inaction.

The biggest mistake new entrepreneurs make is to confuse movement for action. I see too many people wasting their time on the latter.

A study conducted by the University of California, Irvine revealed that employees actually feel happiest while engaged in busywork, or what the researchers refer to as “rote work.”

You need to reconsider how to manage your time because you’re mistaking being busy for being productive if this sounds like you. Watching more training doesn’t move your business forward.

The leader of the study, Dr. Gloria Mark, explains:
” With rote work, you get a feeling of accomplishment, but you haven’t exerted a lot of mental activity. It gives you a feeling of fulfilment, but there’s not a single frustration or stress.”

You Won’t Make Money until You Start Selling
Some entrepreneurs seem almost scared to start their businesses, as if the fear of failure has trapped them in their desk chairs and forced them to buy more and more educational products instead of setting up a website or putting together an email list.

Because they are action-oriented, I’ve seen people that are brand new to this industry go out and make a lot of money simply. If you want to be successful, that’s exactly what you need to do, too.

Do Something Productive Every Day
I’m talking about tasks you complete that can directly make you money when I talk about productive activities. Things like creating capture pages, sending sales emails, and posting ads.

Don’t just sit there learning; take the time to use that knowledge to start your business. Figure out how to brand yourself, how to reach your niche market, and then get it done. You won’t start making money until you do!

It’s so much more valuable to take action, even when you make mistakes! Those mistakes teach how to fine tune your business and make it a success. I know this from my own experience.

The biggest mistake new entrepreneurs make is to confuse movement for action. That discovery makes sense to me, because time and time again I see new consultants getting stuck in training mode– that’s when they watch educational video after video without actually putting any of that knowledge into practice. Those mistakes teach how to fine tune your business and make it a success. And I started making a lot of mistakes.

When I started in the internet marketing industry, my main problem was getting traffic. And I started making a lot of mistakes.

That discovery makes sense to me, because time and time again I see new consultants getting stuck in training mode– that’s when they watch educational video after video without actually putting any of that knowledge into practice. Why? It’s easy to sit back and be educated, while it’s much more stressful to take your business and your future into your own hands with productive actions.

You won’t start making money until you do!

How to Build a Valuable Business Team

build-valuable-business-team-54657501-1024x682
How to Build a Valuable Business Team
When you’re an entrepreneur with the goal of building a successful company, it’s incredibly important to put together a solid team. Without hardworking, educated, dependable employees and partners, your company will flounder and never achieve the success you’ve hoped for.
Let’s assume that you need a great team to support you and your business ideas. How do you actually build that team?
Tips for Putting Together Your Business Team
Team members are incredibly important for your business development. As time goes by and your company is growing, you will need more and more people to take over tasks like finance, content, and administration writing.
Here are a few tips I’ve learned over the years about developing and motivating a great team:
1. Hire highly-skilled professionals.
You’ll just cost yourself more time and money in the long run if you’re not careful during the hiring process. Training and motivating unqualified team members is a waste of your resources, so don’t just hire the first person that applies.
2. Connect with team members regularly.
Even the best employees and consultants need some feedback, and to touch base with their leaders from time to time. The best way to keep everyone on the same page is to meet regularly, whether virtually or in person.
3. Instigate a coaching and develop program.
In most companies regardless of the size and achievements, the success of every consultant depends on the cultivation of a great team. Since the income of a consultant is heavily dependent on the subsequent sales of his or her recruits, coaching is a very important part of the team ethos. Take the time to create an in-depth, easy-to-understand program that teaches your recruits everything they need to know about your business and your plans for the future.
4. Present webinars.
A webinar is a simple way to connect with your team members. Not only can webinars be recorded ahead of time and broadcasted later, but it can save a lot of time and money when it comes to getting team members together to discuss issues. Most companies host at least one webinar a month.
5. Create Facebook community groups.
Facebook groups are the ideal place for team members to meet casually and discuss anything from procedural issues to customer relationships. These discussions can happen slowly over the day or week, and everyone can benefit from seeing the conversion unfold.
At the end of the day, it’s up to each team member to be productive. Provide all the relevant tools and support, and the people who truly believe in you and your company will rise to the top.
Every Great Team Needs Direction
Staying connected with your team is the most important thing to remember. If you want to take your business to the next level by building a dedicated team, you have to offer a great deal of support to your staff and partners.
And most importantly, if you want to take your business to the next level by building a dedicated team, you have to offer a great deal of support to your staff and partners.

TIPS on Customer Service That Make Your Business BOOM

Customer service is the key to keeping your business bubbling along, without this important element supporting your business you will lose customers as quick as your attracting them.
CUSTOMER SERVICE USES
There are many ways that customer service grows your business its the human element of just wanting acceptance and become part of the community in which could be as simple as welcoming the new member, or having the virtual assistant watching your new Facebook group that you have formed and being there to answer simple questions and comments.
AMAZON - SHOPIFY - EBAY STORES
These stores rely heavily on you the owner to have the best customer support possible to help keep people with quick response times to questions, to give login information and be responsive to reviews that they write to know that they are being heard.
These simple steps are the way to have repeat customers that turn into raving fans that bring you more business. Doesn't it make sense to spend advertising dollars once and then to keep them for repeat customers they're after all then costing you absolutely nothing to retain.
Many customers just want to have their questions answered or follow up their orders or how to apply a code to give them the discount off the full price you are offering. To keep the customer happy it all comes down to quick response time to questions in order to avoid frustrations, which leads to refunds and buyers remorse.
Research reveals that customers want human interaction not something that frustrates them like a recorded message or phone prompts they want to speak to a human voice to answer questions quickly.
It may be something as simple as logging on people get stumped and annoyed when they can't get access to products that they have just purchased. This delay in getting back to them with a solution to their problem gets them upset and writes reviews that are sometimes unpleasant and will hurt your future business.
With all the hard work that goes behind a launch of a new product or service with advertising and webinars I have seen personally the numbers of new sign ups drop off dramatically between 25-30% due to no customer service. This is leaving money on the table.
WEBINARS
What about shopping cart abandonment this happens a lot and many businesses just send an email to get lost amongst the many emails that people get sent wouldn't your company stand out from others to pick up the phone and ask them "was there a problem - how can we help you?"
WELCOME CALL
There are some clients who will say nothing and will never take the next step because they are unsure of the next step in your program or service. A follow up call warms the person and shows warmth of your company.
This only takes a few minutes and something like "Hi Mary this is Dan from ABC Company, just giving you a courtesy call to first to welcome you to our company and to see if I can help you with and questions."
How good does that customer feel now, first they are acknowledged and secondly they have an opportunity to say if there is a problem and have someone help them.
We at Need a VA have known the human touch is so important in growing your business we personally help variety of businesses, product launches and services increase their bottom line just by being there to help their customers.

A Virtual Assistant Bookkeeper Is Gold For Your Business

I want to share a story with you that I know will ring true for many of you that produce a shoe box full of receipts and pay big dollars for the CPA to make sense of the contents in the box.
To be truthful I was using the shoe box accounting systems where friends would laugh as I opened the box carefully and shut it quickly to squeeze yet another receipt in.
The box was full to the brim and I had made my way in for my appointment with the CPA and faced him with a large pad of paper in front of him as I tried to recall events, dates and different expenses I was trying to write off. Then the Accountant took off his glasses looked me straight in the eye and said "I am only as good as the information you give me!"
"Just imagine in this room if I had the tax department sitting around the table would your stories satisfy him?"
This truth hit me straight between the eyes I can still remember the sinking feeling when I thought that my poor record keeping would get me into hot water sooner or later and I virtually became obsessed about finding a virtual assistant to help get my house into order.
Tips to Get Your Started:
It's always hard starting anything new but to be prepared to spend only an hour a day to tackle this task, as it will overwhelm you.
Definitely do not do this task late at night or you will find you can't sleep.
Go purchase either a filing cabinet or do what I did and buy color-coded concertina boxes so you can easily find the year that you're looking for.
Clear the kitchen or office desk and first sort out in year then date order.
What I did is look for a virtual assistant bookkeeper and found much more than I bargained for she is she is a qualified CPA and she journals all of my receipts straight away directly onto QuickBooks and for the Australian clients MYOB.
We now have clients all around the world with many like how I was and they either started out with good intentions but just either got busy or lost the enthusiasm for book work and started to fall behind.
A good bookkeeper will save you money two ways as there will be less for the CPA to do, the cost of a virtual assistant bookkeeper is thirds of the cost of an accountant. The records will be kept beautifully and will stand the scrutiny of the tax office.
At Need a VA we are a virtual assistant outsourcing company that have expert qualified accountant/bookkeepers on hand to do your books no matter if you are in the US, Australia, Canada etc contact us TODAY at http://needava.com or email info@needava.com
